For generations, people have been our most valuable asset. That’s why we joined Amfori, to have a positive, social impact from a human perspective. Through regular checks, independent auditors verify that our factories provide their workers with fair wages, health insurance, safe working conditions and decent working hours. We strive to close the gap between minimum and living wages by 2030.
Better cotton
Responsibly sourced materials are an essential part of our commitment to a more conscious future. Cotton is our most important material, which is why Profuomo is committed to contributing to the improvement of cotton farming practices globally. In 2019 we started buyingBCIMass Balance cotton and from 2022 onwards we started to work with certified cotton standardsGOTS andOCS, focusing on organic cotton that can be physically traced within the supply chain.
Animal welfare
As animals provide us with the finest materials for our comfortable products, we want animals to have a comfortable life as much as possible. That’s why we want to work with farmers who treat their animals well. For wool RWS guarantees the 5 freedoms of Animal Welfare. RWS-certified wool also provides full traceability from farm to product.
Restricted Substances List
Together with our suppliers, we work with a Restricted Substances List that’s in line with EU law and the Zero Discharge Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) standard, to minimize the use of hazardous chemicals. In 2024, we’ve partnered with ZDHC, to ensure our wet processing manufacturers comply with their “Roadmap to Zero” by 2030.
Transparency
We value the long-term relationships we’ve built with our suppliers and want to extend this transparency to our customers. That’s why we’ve partnered with tex.tracer to offer a clear view of our products’ entire journey, from the sourcing of raw materials all the way to you.
Slow transport
Transport has a significant impact on carbon emissions. That’s why Profuomo prefers “slow transport” methods such as boat, train, and road transport which have a lower environmental impact compared to air cargo. In 2025, around 2% of Profuomo’s inbound transport volume were air shipments
Packaging
Profuomo is preparing for the new PPWR packaging regulation. In addition, we are transitioning towards certified recycled materials in our plastic polybags. For shipping, we use FSC-mix certified cartons and crates for Profuomo private brand-store deliveries.
